I'm Evan Hockings, a Member of Technical Staff at Iceberg Quantum.

I am principally interested in mitigating the existential risks posed by artificial intelligence.

During my PhD in the Quantum Theory Group at the University of Sydney, advised by Andrew Doherty and Robin Harper, I worked on characterising noise in quantum computers. In particular, I focused on scalable noise characterisation methods for quantum error correction. I believe science should be open-source wherever possible, and developed QuantumACES.jl to make it easy to design, simulate, and implement noise characterisation experiments for quantum computers.
